Space to work out your direction in life

Meet me, the therapist with a dog, my gorgeous girl, Ember. She is a fantastic therapy dog and great with young people and adults a like. She has a lovely calming effect and often helps clients to open up more and relax into sessions. She is available to attend our sessions with me if you would like but of course this is not required if you would rather not.

I am a psychotherapist and mental health professional in Newcastle with over 18 years working with many people in therapy in a variety of settings and with many different mental and physical health problems. I am very down to earth, easy to talk to and approachable. Being holistic in approach means as well as offering talking therapy we also focus on you as a whole person, mind, body and soul. With a deep understanding of how connected the mind and body are.

I have a Bachelor (BSc) degree in Psychology after 6 years and a Masters (MSc) in Mental Health Science which I studied for 3 years. My Diploma is in Holistic Psychotherapy. I am also a trained Mindfulness practitioner and CBT worker. I therefore have experience in different healing and therapeutic modalities.

Before setting up my practise I worked in school settings with young people and adults. This consisted of working with people suffering anxiety, Emetophobia (fear of sickness), OCD, panic, depression, phobias, self-harm and overthinking amongst many other problems. I used primarily Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches. Before that, I worked in a drug and alcohol addiction setting, supporting others through addictions.

I have been working privately now and setting up my practise has supported my passion of creating a space for clients to feel safe, secure and relaxed. A place I could make comforting and decorate with clients in mind. Showing my dedication of keeping clients at the forefront and the importance of the therapist and client relationship.

I offer a holistic approach to wellbeing in Newcastle, Wallsend area in a quiet and peaceful setting with a fresh and caring space.

I also offer Mindfulness groups in Newcastle. I run regular group sessions, once a month where we can get together and explore mindfulness practise. It is a lovely, relaxed, warm, welcoming group with welcome tea and coffee followed by positivity and mindfulness practise. You will learn how to apply this amazing tool to your difficulties, find some relaxation and have time for you and to meet and connect to lovely people. Creating a different way of responding and handling challenges in life. Contact me if you are interested in group Mindfulness and I can add you on to the list and provide details.

It is always a privilege to work with you

You may ask yourself, am I normal? or search how to be happy again. You may question why do I panic in social settings or why am I scared of being sick. Maybe its why do I think bad things or how do I stop being scared of going out.

All of this is normal and we develop different ways of living based on our experiences and interactions with people. I am here to help you explore all of this and whatever you need to bring up.
